Montes del Plata received authorizations for its start-up
Montes del Plata has received the required authorizations for the start-up and operation of its industrial complex located near Conchillas in the department of Colonia, Uruguay.
5th of June 2014.
The key permit in this stage was the Environmental Authorization for Operation (AAO), which was issued today, after Uruguay´s National Environment Bureau (DINAMA) verified the incorporation of Best Available Techniques throughout all of the company´s industrial processes and ensured that the facilities were in proper conditions to commence operations.
Having met all the necessary requisites, Montes del Plata initiates the mill´ s operation start-up process. This stage will be completed once pulp begins to be produced in accordance with established quality conditions.
The start-up process begins with a warming up of the entire mill and by filling all tanks, point at which wood chips can be fed into the digester.
Given that each step could take several days, pulp production may begin in the coming weeks.
