Montes del Plata has a 360° approach in transport that involves raising awareness, education, listening and active dialogue with all parties involved in traffic safety: drivers, transport contractors, the company's internal team, officials, local communities and education centres.

Through an agreement with the Ministry of Transport and Public Works (MTOP) we encourage the professionalization of drivers working in the forestry sector by implementing a course. Over 700 drivers have already received training through the course, which is a mandatory requisite to work at transport companies.

Meetings are systematically held with transport companies where driver behaviour is assessed with the aim of implementing preventive and corrective actions to achieve "zero accidents" during Montes del Plata’s operations.

Furthermore, through programmes, hundreds of children, teachers and neighbours of rural schools in priority departments, as well as drivers and transport companies, exchange ideas to generate citizen awareness, identify risk situations and seek solutions to improve road safety.
